Meetings

Olde Towne Fenton Chapter, NSDAR, meetings are held monthly from September through May in the Fenton area, except for April, at which time members enjoy an engaging and informative field trip.

Monthly chapter meetings include a program, with an invited speaker to present a topic of interest. Each meeting also contains a break between the chapter’s business meeting and the presentation, allowing members to enjoy refreshments, welcome new members, and socialize with one another. An additional opportunity to socialize is offered following the meeting where those interested may join together for lunch at a nearby restaurant. A highlight of the year is the annual Christmas buffet luncheon and silent auction, which includes an inspiring program guest speaker.

Examples of program topics presented at chapter meetings may be centered around American history, women’s issues, literacy promotion, historic preservation, genealogical research, and ways in which we support the needs of our active-duty military servicemen and women and honor our veterans of the United States Armed Forces.

Often, members collectively are called upon to bring items to the meetings that will be contributed to causes the chapter supports. To name just a few examples, recent collections included personal hygiene items for homeless veterans, diapers and baby products for women warriors, school supplies in the fall and toys and books during the holidays for children of active-duty military, and food and paper products for local food pantries supporting the military.
