Chapter members enjoy focusing on activities that will preserve history for future generations. Chapter efforts help support the preservation of NSDAR buildings. Participation in local historical programs, tours and events offers members and their guests opportunities to learn more about local and regional histories.
The chapter’s projects include the recent clean-up of Cold Water Cemetery, owned and maintained by the Missouri State Society, Daughters of the American Revolution, to prepare the grounds for the annual Memorial Day ceremony there. This cemetery is located near Florissant, Missouri, in St. Louis County.
Another key historic preservation project was the recent clearing of brush and debris clean-up of the Bowles-Vandover Cemetery. This was a project that brought together chapter volunteers, members of their families and community residents.
Chapter volunteers are involved in another aspect of historic preservation; indexing of historical information at the Fenton Historical Society. They meet regularly and devote time to this important endeavor.
